Interpersonal relationships, everyday routines, and processes are frequently at the center of Pia Pospischil's multimedia practice. As the fourth artist featured in the exhibition series Whisper Down the Lane, she presents her new video installation Supervision No. 5 (2025). Developed specifically for the format, the work consists of a monitor framed by semi-transparent curtains, on which a silent scene unfolds between three people of different ages. The setting is a classically furnished restaurant, presumably a family-run business. Taking this location—which oscillates between the private and the public—as her starting point, the artist offers a subtle commentary on simmering generational conflicts, the conscious and unconscious transmission of relational patterns, and the hope of breaking free from them.
